Goodbye Garbmann, Hello Any Wear

We’ve Rebranded! We’ve been Garbmann since our conception in 2015 and after much deliberation we came to the decision that it was time for a change. Although Garbmann will always hold an important place in the business’s history, as we have grown and developed, we started to feel less connected with the name and more that it might be hindering rather than helping us.

Despite the individuality of the name, as our customers grew so did the questions about what our name means, where it came from, and the dreaded, ‘I didn’t know what you did’. This was a big one for us, as if potential customers weren’t actually sure what service we were providing, how were we going to grow. We had become stagnant, with the same loyal customers using us regardless of our name but potential customers not even finding us due to lack of understanding around our name.

It felt like we had hit a crossroad. We were at the precipice of launching our new website and ordering platform and had to decide whether to push forward with our current name and branding or turn that corner and start afresh, hopefully kickstarting a new wave of interest.

So, as we stepped into 2023, we said goodbye to Garbmann and began to make moves to a new identity. After countless discussions and brainstorms we came up with a new name that, simply put, worked. It had everything we wanted from a new name, a clear meaning, flexibility for future endeavours, and a fun twist, enter; Any Wear. A play on ‘Anywhere’ and a description of exactly what we do; any type of wear, whether that be workwear, school wear, corporate wear, or promotional wear, it felt like the perfect fit.

So as January ticked on, we worked continuously on our new website and rebrand and now, three months on we have achieved our goal. Our new website any-wear.co.uk, allows for a more seamless browsing and ordering experience with an extensive catalogue and direct online ordering, including adding any personalisation. Our new name has allowed us to clearly advertise what we do and what we offer and as we hope to grow our community it feels like a name that we can be passionate about.
